<h3>Short Vitae</h3>
<p>Ourania holds a BA in Communication and Mass Media from the National University of Athens, Greece, as well as an MA in Contemporary European Studies and a PhD in the relationship between nationalism, democratization, and civil society in Central Europe, from the University of Sussex in the UK.</p>
<p>She is currently working as a freelance consultant and through cooperating with civil society entities and academics, she organises conferences and roundtables, conducts research, authors, edits and publishes articles on topics related to human and women’s rights. Previously, she worked as Coordinator of the Femicide Team with the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS)-Vienna Liaison Office. She has also worked for more than 10 years with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), both at the Secretariat in Vienna, as well as with the OSCE Missions to Kosovo, as democratization officer, and Bosnia &amp; Herzegovina, as head of a field office.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Besides various activities related to the Femicide project, Ourania's responsibilities include Public Relations and coordination of fundraising.</p>
<h3>Statement of Engagement</h3>
<p>Female empowerment, anti-discrimination and gender equality have always been the cornerstone of my work in the human rights field. I believe that my engagement with the UNSA will further enable me to deepen my research and broaden my work in this area. UNSA has attracted the interest of many dynamic professionals who, although coming from different backgrounds, are committed to furthering the work of the United Nations and consolidating the Sustainable Development Goals. The fact that the UNSA has a well-established and diversified network of stakeholders including academics, diplomats, civil society representatives and UN practitioners, will be key to building alliances on furthering women’s rights and combating violence/Femicide, facilitating exchange of information and knowledge and raising awareness on these important issues.</p>

<h3>Short Vitae</h3>
<p>Pallavi Chatterjee is a postgraduate student of Human Rights at the University of Vienna, with a keen interest in development, women's rights and education. She is presently an Associate Consultant at Humanity Research Consultancy, a UK-based social enterprise involved in unearthing modern slavery practices within corporate operations. She is also a research consultant at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Fundamental and Human Rights in Vienna, Austria, as well as a member of Women in Development Europe (WIDE), and has written extensively on topics such as disability rights and the deprivation of liberty, regional geopolitics, conflict and peace, indigenous and environmental rights, and the prohibition of torture. At present, she is working on her thesis on human rights-based approaches to development and the litigation efforts of self-employed women's movements within her native India, as well as assisting UNSA Vienna in the Femicide editorial team.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Pallavi is member of the FEMICIDE Editorial Team.</p>
<h3>Statement of engagement</h3>
<p>UNSA Vienna provides a wonderful opportunity to anyone wanting to gain practical experience in areas of human rights concerns that are not as commonly addressed within the mainstream, particularly in the realm of controversial topics such as gender-based violence and climate change-induced migration. I'm truly inspired by their approach towards involving future generations and youth communities in their activities, and hope to bring value to UNSA operations through my experiences as an international student, as well as in my academic and professional experience in a global South context.</p>
